This mode still offers microtransactions, but these new features allow players to remain free-to-play much more easily. MUT is the true reason to play Madden 20. Those same challenges also occasionally reward you with Fantastic Cards that you can level up with training points, which you also earn along the way through the game. More challenges allow you to earn coins much quicker. More cards allow you to upgrade them to certain levels, depending on their rarity. I come back because I like building a team, and MUT made doing that much more engaging. Regardless, it brings me great joy to finally say that player interactions have a sophistication no Madden before has. Things like blocking kicks still depend on one specific animation. ![]() However, so many interactions seem so specific that I find it hard to believe that all interactions follow animations. Some player interactions do follow animations still. The Madden development team really took command of the Frostbite engine this year. So, everyone will have their own kind of learning curve in Madden 20. In particular, audibling a play now requires different button combinations. To the game’s detriment, some more specific instructions lie in wait for you to discover on your own. The very specific information is showcased immediately, while the more common information comes in elsewhere. One of the best ways to describe how the presentation has been improved is in how the game showcases Superstar players. Superstars have extra traits that standard players do not, making them dangerous on the field. ![]()
